probate

Rest easy.

Probate is the term usually associated with the process of finalising someone’s estate after they have died. This can quite often be a simple matter to deal with and the majority of the time is carried out by the executor or the Will or a close family member in the case of there being no Will.

If the estate is more complex, or if there may be contentious issues or you would just rather a professional sorted it out for you, then you can appoint a solicitor or probate practitioner to act on behalf of the executors.

At Silvergate we can help with probate although quite often our advice is to try and do it yourself if you are fairly competent at filling in forms. We are always here though if we are needed.
